Hi guys. It's the Doctor again. This new thread is about the arts. Talk about what you're writing, performing, playing, or anything else that has to the arts. Alons-y.

Omg this is so cool!!! This has made me happy I'm going to be adding a lot this summer because I am auditioning for Seussical. If you don't know what that is it is some of Dr. Seuss's most famous books, (The Cat in the Hat, Horton Hears a Who, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, etc.) all put into one musical.

Excellent! I'm trying to write a screenplay called Devil's Work. It's about a prisoner who is let free after spending 10 years in prison. Though he tries to stay clean, he can't help but slip back into his old ways. Another idea with the same title was about a rookie cop who witnesses the murder of his friend by two other cops. He then begins to descend into insanity as he digs deeper to find the corruption withinmthe force.

Awesome! They both sound pretty cool I'm not sure which one sounds better though. the first one sounds like Jean Valjean's a little bit. Except he was in prison for 19 years, (5 for what he did, the rest because he tried to run) Also, he never really did anything wrong he just stole a mouthful of bread because he was starving to death, so he didn't really have any "old ways" to slip back into. He did steal from the church though. Then he became mayor and stuff, but that's not the point. The other one doesn't sound like Les Miserables, but it still sounds cool. Even though it doesn't sound like Les Mis, I think IO like the second one.

No. Les Miz doesn't belong in these hallowed halls! Just kidding. Hey, would you rather act live or in front of a camera. I would say live because you can work off the energy of the crowd. I know you did Dumbledore, because I worked with you on Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. What was it like for you.

Les Miz belongs everywhere! Honestly I like live because it gives you the opportunity to just become the character. When it is in front of a camera, the camera and I feel like you don't use as much emotion because you always know you can do it over again. You would think it would be more stressful live but really I don't think it is because, again, you become the character. (It's at the community theater here)

212. Alright. I still think live would be stressful because you don't have a script to reference or cue cards. When Willy Wonka debuted, it was a huge transition for you guys and the stage crew I was on because you don't get stopped. It's not like the director is gonna get up in the middle of the show and say, " Okay I liked that, but You guys were lacking some sincere emotion. I mean, for Christ's sake you're starving! Jesus. Alright, let's get going!" And when you perform in front of a camera, you're still doing a live performance for a crew.

Okay I see what you mean. I just think that when you are preforming on live on stage in your mind it is kind of a do-or-die thing. You know that this is your one chance to tell the story and I think that really allows you to give the audience emotion and make them believe that you are the character. It's kinda hard to explain. I think that once you get in the right mind-set it becomes less stressful. I don't know that's just my opinion. It's actually kind of funny because if there is a huge crowd of people I don't get nervous but if there is a small group I just can't do it. I think its because with a small group I can see everyone's face with a big crowd you can't really.

That makes sense. That's why Saturday Night Live is the best show because they can mess up. Not like on a sitcom.

I mean The Big Bang Theory is still good. I'll take a Stefon sketch over a Sheldon bit any day.
