Are you ready to rumble! It's time for our first Matchup Monday. Lord of The Rings vs. Harry Potter! Place your vote and tell us why. The votes will be tallied and the winner will be crowned on the next Monday. Personally, I'm picking Lord of the Rings. Gandalf and Frodo are icons, and the books and movies have real stakes. Also the universe seems more fully fledged then Harry's universe. It certainly is much larger.
PICK: Lord of the Rings.

Um, is that a question? I like Gandalf and Frodo as much as the next nerd, but i am going Harry Potter all the way because Harry Potter will never be gone as long as those who remain are loyal to him.
PICK: Harry Potter.

But Gandalf came back from the dead! Dumbledore was a creepy ghost dude in that weird sequence at King's Cross that looked like the Muppets on acid!

Yeah well you know what that is an irrelevant argument because Gandalf and Dumbledore are the same person. And besides that all happened in Harry's head that doesn't mean it wasn't real but still. Besides the only reason Dumbledore died was because of that stupid horecrux that made his hand look like a raisin so then he asked Snape to kill him. When he came back in Harry's mind, that only happened because Harry was dying. If he hadn't come back, Harry wouldn't have been able to go back into the world and defeat Lord Voldemort.

I guess so. But did Harry have a badass Ranger named Aragorn protecting him? And if you say Snape, yes Alan Rickman is cool, but not as cool as Aragorn. Also, Frodo defeated Sauron without having to have a guy in his head save him. He just conquered his challenges by himself. With slight help from the Riders of Rohan.

Percy was barely an ally. The only Muggles that were Harry's allies were Duddly for five minutes and the woman in Order of The Phoenix. Also, he may have had the Wizarding World, but the Fellowship had Middle Earth! This included all the elves, dwarves, men, hobbits, ents, the Riders of Rohan, all of Gondor, possibly parts of Gollum, and the White Council. That's hundreds of millions of people compared to maybe 10 million.

Percy played an important role up to Prisoner of Azkaban. After that he graduated and joined the ministry. But, in the last book/2 movies Percy fought against Voldemort. Yes those two were muggles that helped Harry, but many muggle families supplied things hid children and families and more. Ok maybe the Fellowship had more followers, but if you look at the fellowship as a whole then I can count ANYONE who opposed Voldemort. That makes the amount of followers between the two groups about equal.

Yeah, I guess so. Let's just both agree that they're both extremely great series and that Twilight just blows.

Let's sing the doom song! I opened up this thread on NationStates about E3, and it got 82 responses. Literally every post by Soviet Post Punk was negative. About Video Games! Also, Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag is gonna be sweet.
